Four-high Reversible Cold Rolling Mill

There are two types of four-roll mill processes:

hot rolling process

The steel billet from the steel mill is only a semi-finished product, and it must be rolled in a steel rolling mill before it can become a qualified product. The continuous casting slab sent from the steelmaking plant first enters the heating furnace, then passes through the rough rolling mill for repeated rolling, and then enters the finishing rolling mill. Rolling steel belongs to metal pressure processing. To put it simply, rolling steel is like pressing noodles. After multiple extrusions and pushes with a rolling pin, the noodles become thinner and thinner. In the hot rolling production line, the slab is heated and softened, then sent to the rolling mill by the roller table, and finally rolled into the size required by the user. Steel rolling is a continuous and uninterrupted operation. The steel strip runs on the roller table at a high speed, and the equipment has a high degree of automation and high efficiency. But firstly, it needs to go through heating and preliminary rolling before it can be sent to the hot rolling line for rolling. It is much simpler to use continuous casting slabs in the process. Generally, the thickness of continuous casting slabs is 150-250mm. , enter the finishing mill through the roller table. The finishing mill is composed of seven 4-roll mills. The speed measuring rollers and flying shears are installed in front of the machine to cut off the head of the plate surface. The speed of the finishing mill can reach 23m/s. Hot-rolled products are divided into two types: steel coil and ingot plate. The thickness of the rail after hot rolling is generally several millimeters. If the user requires a thinner steel plate, it must be cold-rolled.

Compared with hot-rolling, the processing lines of cold-rolling plants are relatively scattered. Cold-rolled products mainly include ordinary cold-rolled sheets, coated sheets, that is, tin-plated sheets, galvanized sheets, and color-coated sheets. The steel coils sent by the hot rolling mill have to undergo three consecutive technical treatments first, and the oxide film must be removed with hydrochloric acid before being sent to the cold rolling mill. In the cold rolling mill, the uncoiler unwinds the steel coil, and then the steel strip is introduced into a five-stand continuous rolling mill to be rolled into a thin strip coil. There are also common steel strip coils of different specifications coming out of the five racks, which are processed according to the various requirements of users.
